Good Eats

Good Eats is a section where both the skinny bitches contribute their experiences at various great restaurants they have eaten.

Tampopo (St. Paul, MN)

The first time I was introduced to this place was by an American-Japanese borned organizer of the AAI conference that we went to. We (immunology students of the Mayo Clinic) were sent to attend this 5-day course, and were excited to be in the cities embarking in the journey to tasting great food (and of course to learn advance immunology courses). The organizer gave us some recommendations on Japanese restaurants and Tanpopo is his top choice to get the best udon noodles in the twin cities.
Tanpopo is famous for their handmade udon noodles serve in their flavorful broth....hmmmm.... Also, don't forget to try their dessert of the day. I have had their sweet potato creme brulee and the pumpkin one (Amazing!)
The catch is that they only serve dinner.

Darker Than Blue (Baltimore, MD)

Darker Than Blue is a modern and hip restaurant that serves amazing gourmet soul food. It is located at Greenmount, Baltimore...yes a big shout-out to the hood I used to live in (well, the elder skinny bitch still resides there).

I must say everything we have tried so far has been yummcious. They start by serving their famous sweet corn bread with sweet potato-whipped butter (Oh so heavenly good!). The fried chicken and ribs are a must try (don't forget the mac n' cheese too).
